Petts Wood, South East London
A typical suburban family garden but with a small brook running through part of it. This unique and beautiful feature allowed for a secret garden to be created beyond the watercourse at the very bottom, where most of the late afternoon and evening sun hits. The garden was mainly laid to lawn but has been transformed into a multi-zonal space with an outdoor kitchen, large dining terrace, formal lawn and various seating areas, as well as the secluded garden at the very rear, all softened with informal herbaceous perennials, clipped hedging and feature multi-stem trees. The pathway provides a journey through the garden with focal points to entice people to explore and eventually find the bridge that crosses the brook leading to the hidden garden.
